Now in its 24th year, the Eccup 10 is back with a new sponsor and charitable partner, Hollybank Trust! Last year’s course tweaks are retained including the faster finish straight, but it still takes in the rural closed roads in and around Eccup that make this Leeds most popular 10 mile road race! Abbey Runners will be making a donation to both Hollybank Trust and our charity of the year from the race proceeds and you can also support either or both by making an additional donation with your entry.

Malham Show is held annually in the heart of beautiful Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales on August Bank Holiday Saturday. Under the shadow of Malham Cove this traditional agricultural and family country show has been taking place for nearly 100 years.
The Junior Races commence at approx 3pm, followed by the Senior race.
Route : The race starts from the show field and all runners use the same route with the younger age groups turning round sooner.
Age Groups : Seniors, U17’s, U14’s, U12’s and U9’s
Distance : Seniors 2.5 miles, est’ time 17 minutes for the Winner.
Terrain : all on grass, except 400m of road.
Total climb : Seniors is approx 700 feet, U17’s – 500 feet, U14’s – 300 feet, U12’s – 150 feet, U9’s – 50 feet
Course : fully marshalled throughout.
Prizes : 1st to 6th in most Age Groups and Local & Veteran Prizes.
Entries can be taken on the show field on the day, Juniors Free, Seniors £1.

Route – Rodley, Calverley, Thornbury (distance 8.5 miles)
Distance – 8.75 miles
Efforts – 5 x 1 mile efforts
Route – Through Farsley, down to The Owl pub at Rodley, up Coal Hill Lane, along Intake/Swinnow through Stanningley, to Pudsey centre, then down to Fartown before heading back to the school.
Car Park session – Warm-up, 5 min tempo run (to the car park), Speed session in the car park – short timed efforts, pyramids, etc, steady run (back to the school), Cool down
Distance – 8.2 miles
Efforts – 4 x 1.5 miles
Route – Down to Stanningley, up Broad lane to Bramley Town Street, down Henconner Ln (past bus depot) to Wickes, up Pudsey Rd to Pudsey centre, on to Uppermoor, then Waterloo Rd and back to the school
