From the Crown Inn in Addingham to Beamsley Beacon and back
The race starts from outside the Crown Inn, in Addingham, and heads out along Bolton Road. Take a right onto Bark Lane and then cross the river by the suspension bridge. Up the track to West Hall Lane, then over a stile and across the field, then up through the woods, beside a beck, to Chapel House Farm. The path goes through the farmyard before a right up the track to Hardings Lane. Left for 200 yds then right up Paul Lane to Spring Well Farm. A few more fields then onto the open moor and a track which skirts the bottom of the Beacon. A last climb to the large pile of stones that signifies the Beacon, then any way back down on permitted footpaths. If choosing an alternate way back down than the outward flagged route, runners are advised to reccy the course beforehand.
