As well as being the last of this year’s English Championship races, Great Whernside was also the Yorkshire Championship race.
Despite recent fatherhood meaning he’s not had quite as much time to race or train, Joe Baxter had an absolute stormer of a race finishing 9th overall and clinching 3rd Yorkshire place. Well done JB! A Yorkshire vest is surely on the cards in future.
Of course, it would be remiss of me to neglect to mention the other top performances of the day – new recruit John Spill came in 6th (and 1st U21) and Harry Holmes in 12th, giving the chaps the team prize for the race as well. Top bananas all round.
